Trevor Philbey

After having spent virtually his life in the Mallee Trevor recently made the move to the Barossa Valley, and a dramatic (and enjoyable) change of life.

Whilst music has always been a major part of his life (always got a song going round in the head, or rearranging a song) it frequently took a backseat to other issues, farming, truck driving, etc.

Two years ago he enrolled in a 12 month course at the School of Audio Engineering and came out with a credit in May 2007.  Along with his guitar playing, over many years in many bands long since gone, this new outlook on the music/audio scene is giving him a new lease on life.

Trevor has been playing lead guitar with the DV8s, and has recently done a few gigs with Cross Country and has also accompanied Craig Giles and Tiffney Stroh at Alcheringa in Feb 2008.

Trevor is known as a solo artist and has been playing solo for many years in the Mallee and more recently in the Barossa Valley. He has a collection of guitars which allows him to vary his style and gives him the opportunity to play many different genres of music. His love of music and the guitar in particular drives him to achieve a sound which is distinctly his own. His playing style has been influenced over the years by Chet Atkins, Les Paul, Hank Marvin to name a few.

He has set up a Project Studio for small recording sessions, using ProTools software and associated equipment, and is gaining recognition for his attention to detail in the recording scene.

Trevor and his partner Margit are now setting up a PA system using all new high quality equipment, such as a Midas console, JBL and EAW speakers and Klark Teknik and dbx outboard rack gear, with a wide selection of mics to cover most requirements. The PA system will cater to medium size venues, and will provide exceptional quality sound.

Trevor and Margit have created Valley Music as their business and can be contacted on 0408 763 326 or 08 8562 8418
