WHERE THERE'S A REASON..
You could be forgiven for thinking that a 6 year break between albums could be an indicator of writers block. Not so with "Reason & Rhyme' - the brand new album from the richness of Australia's premier Country Vocal band 'The Sherrahs'.
One of this countries hardest working family bands, somehow the Sherrahs have found time to record 'Reason & Rhyme' whilst continuing to work across the country. Musical director and co-producer Anthony Stewart, together with band members Tracy, Steven, Michelle and Terry have spent many a Saturday afternoon in their own studio putting together an eclectic mix of mainstream country, bluegrass, folk and of course an unforgettable 'yodelling song' - which proves that talent should find no barriers in versatility.
When ABC writer Geoffrey Atherton wrote 'Mother & Son', the result was a bumbling mother and a neurotic son. But when this mother and son got together to write the title track 'Reason & Rhyme', pure magic was born. The award winning songwriting team of Christine (Mother) and Steven (Son) captures the very essence of life and love. As well as Mother and Son collaborating, once again Steven has also teamed with songwriting legend Richard Porteous - the producer of the Sherrahs 'Keep in the light' album release on ABC country label several years ago.
In addition to well crafted country originals, the Sherrahs have included a fine selection of popular country songs on 'Reason and Rhyme' - including a haunting version of the Eagles classic 'Desperado'.

The Sherrahs are: Anthony (Musical Director) and Tracy Stewart, and Steven and Michelle Sherrah ( Tracy and Steven are brother and sister; so are Anthony and Michelle) - together with Terry the drummer (who is thankful he is not related to any of them!!).
Reason & Rhyme' recently received a nomination in the top 5 groups nationally in the 2002 Victorian Country Music Awards.
